Zero experience needed. We start from the very beginning.

You've never touched a surfboard
You tried it once on a trip years ago
You want a proper foundation before going further

Which beach, which tide

We pick the spot each morning based on the tide and swell, so you always learn in the right conditions.

Thomas Beach

Sand bottom, about a 10 minute drive. Our usual default.

Dreamland

Our pick on the right tide.

Balangan

When it's small, at mid to high tide.

On a bigger dry season swell, coaches drive up to 25 minutes to find a sheltered beach.

FAQs

Still confused? We've got you!

How many days until I can stand up and ride a wave?

Surf School is a 3-day intensive built for complete beginners. Most people are standing up and riding whitewater waves by day 2, with day 3 spent building confidence and consistency.

Which beach do you use for Surf School?

We pick the spot each day based on the tide and conditions, usually Thomas Beach, Dreamland, or Balangan. All three have sandy-bottom whitewater that's ideal for learning, and we move between them to find the safest, best conditions for beginners.

Is video analysis included?

Yes. Every day of Surf School includes video analysis of your sessions, so you can see exactly what's working and what to adjust before you go back out.

What's the difference between Surf School and Level 1?

Surf School is a 3-day intensive for complete beginners. We teach ocean safety, pop-ups, and get you riding whitewater. Level 1 starts where Surf School ends, you're already standing up and ready for green waves. If you've never surfed, do Surf School first.

How many people are in each group?

Surf School runs at a 3:1 max coach ratio, so you're never lost in a crowd. Coaches are in the water with you, not just watching from the beach.

What happens after day 3?

Most beginners move straight into Level 1 to keep building on the fundamentals from Surf School. We'll recommend the right next step based on how your 3 days go.
