Bookings and Payment Procedures

Bookings are effective upon submission of online booking on Kala Surf Camp website or an OTA (Online Travel Agency i.e. Booking.com, AirBnB or others); Kala Surf Camp guests will receive a booking confirmation and trip preparation tips as these functionalities are available on the respective platforms.

We reserve the right to confirm bookings within 24 hours of receipt of online booking.

To secure a booking, full payment must be made by bank transfer or other form of payment as indicated on the booking confirmation. Bank transfer or money order fees are the responsibility of the Kala Surf Camp guest.

About the vacation in Kala Surf Camps

With our Kala Surf Camp in Uluwatu and our upcoming surf camps in Bali, we work with local partners in Bali who meet our professional quality standards. However, we may not be the owner of each individual service that you may book on our website.

You may swap camps free of charge if you email us at least 6 weeks prior to your arrival with a change request. Between 7 days and 6 weeks prior to arrival, a cancellation fee of 25% of the original trip price will be charged. Change requests received less than 7 days prior to arrival will be refunded only if rooms for the entire period are available for sale on short notice. All options are subject to availability. Fees will be calculated on the day the change is made. Any difference in rates is the responsibility of the Kala Surf Camp guest.

On the Indonesian national holiday Nyepi (a day in February or March), no one is allowed out of the Kala Surf Camp area and no surf sessions will take place on that day. Please also note the Indonesian rules that apply to all people residing in Indonesia that day (i.e. light and sound). Each Kala Surf Camp will make a special schedule for that day.

Airport transfers are only guaranteed if flight details (flight number, arrival time and airline) are sent to the front office team at least 72 hours prior to arrival.

A Kala Surf Camp guest will share a room with another Kala Surf Camp guest unless the guest has reserved a single use private room (single use surcharge). Any gender is acceptable. Despite the female only dormitories there are no women -or men-only rooms.

Add-ons booked prior to arrival may be cancelled free of charge, provided the Kala Surf Camp has not covered the cost of the reservation.

Custom shaped boards cannot be cancelled after booking.

All Kala Surf Camp bookings include a surf coaching to several spots around Bali. Surf guiding takes place in the morning and afternoon. All Kala Surf Camp guest have the option to join two sessions per day, subject to availability. There will be a limit of 3 guests per surf coach. Surf coaching includes transportation to the spot, introduction to the surf spot, and surf coaching in the water. Theory lessons, video analysis, and camp photosare extra and included in the price.

We do offer lessons for complete beginners. These can be booked separately on the Kala Surf Camp website as an additional service and are not included in the booking price.

Surf equipment such as surfboards, wax, leashes, and sunscreen are not included in the package but can be purchased or rented upon arrival.

Surf coaching may not be available on public holidays, team events, or during inclement weather; Kala Surf Camp will make alternative arrangements when possible, subject to weather conditions and Indonesian law.

Conditions of Participation in Surf Coaching and Surf Lessons

Kala Surf Camp guests must expressly state that they have no health problems when surfing. Participants must be at least 18 years old. Unaccompanied minors must have a written confirmation of their parent(s) including a copy of these passports and be at least 12 years old. A transport from and to the airport by Kala Surf Camp for these unaccompanied minors is obligatory.

Liability

Kala Surf Camp's liability for damages other than bodily injury shall be limited to two times the trip price. Liability on the part of Kala Surf Camp for loss or damage to participants’ property (e.g.surfboards) is excluded.

It is recommended that Kala Surf Camp guests book baggage and surfboard insurance and health insurance for each period of the stay at Kala Surf Camp.

Kala Surf Camps equipment and vehicles must be handled in an appropriate manner. Kala Surf Camp guest's shall be liable for any damage or loss caused by negligence or intentional damage.

Cancellation and Return of Travel Expenses

Kala Surf Camp bookings may be cancelled at any time prior to the date of your stay. Bookings are not officially cancelled until written notice is received by Kala Surf Camp; the date Kala Surf Camp receives written notice of cancellation is the date the cancellation policy becomes effective. In the unlikely event that a booking is cancelled by the Kala Surf Camp guest, the following charges will apply depending on the notice period of cancellation:

Cancellation 30 days or more prior to arrival date: 15% of the accommodation package price (non-refundable)

Cancellation 14 to 30 days prior to arrival: 30% of the package price.

Cancellation 7 to 13 days prior to arrival: 60% of the package price

Cancellation 2 to 6 days prior to arrival: 90% non-refundable of the room package reservation fee.

Accommodation package fees are non-refundable for cancellations made less than one day in advance or for no-shows at Kala Surf Camp.

It is possible to arrange for a replacement of the Kala Surf Camp guest. In this case, an administrative fee of €55 will be charged as well as a change of booking.

As for boat tours, if the weather conditions are unacceptable, we unfortunately have to cancel up to 2 days in advance. In that case, we will refund the money paid.

Users may prevent cookies from being stored by configuring their browser software accordingly. In this case, however, the user will not be able to use all the functions of this and other websites. However, it is possible to prevent the data generated by cookies from being sent to Google and referred to the website. Using the advertising features of Google Analytics

In addition to the standard Google Analytics settings, Google Analytics functionality is used on this website to support interest-related advertising based on users’ browsing behaviour. third-party cookies to evaluate data regarding user browsing behaviour on various websites. These data allow us to make statistical statements about the demographics of our website users and their areas of interest. We explicitly draw your attention to the fact that we can not see any information about individual users and cannot pinpoint specific users from the statistical data we use. After visiting our website, some of our website visitors will receive placement of our advertisements on other websites. This form of ad placement is known as remarking or retargeting.
